Everyone’s Diwali photos, in one album

Start one shared album a few days before Diwali, which falls on Sunday 8 November in 2026, and send the invite to everyone you celebrate with. Each person adds their photos from their own phone and from WhatsApp, so after the festival the whole day is in one place.

In Yaadgaar the festival then shows up as a card under “Days worth keeping”, ready to become yaadein: a photo book and a video for WhatsApp Status.

Before Diwali

  1. Start a circle

Install Yaadgaar and start a circle for the people you celebrate with: your family, your friends, the people in your building.

  2. Send the code

Open Circle, tap Invite someone and send the code on WhatsApp. One code lets in up to 50 people and works for 7 days.

  3. Add last year’s Diwali

If last year’s photos are on your phone, add them now. Look back then shows every Diwali in the album side by side.

On the day

Yaadgaar sends a reminder two days before Diwali, another on the morning of the day to take a few photos of everyone, and one the day after to add them. Whoever has already added photos from the day is not reminded again.

Each photo is filed under the date it was taken, so the day’s photos stay together, whoever took them.

After Diwali

  1. Open the Diwali card

Under “Days worth keeping” a card offers the festival just gone. Tap Make yaadein, and leave out any photo you do not want.

  2. Share the video

A minute or two after the book, its video is ready. How to share it to Status.

  3. Print the book

Save the PDF and print it at any photo shop, in 4R or A4. What the shop needs.

Every Diwali, side by side

Next year, Look back → A festival → Diwali shows this year’s photos beside last year’s and the years before, from everyone in the circle. Three days before Diwali comes round again, Yaadgaar reminds you of the photos from past years.

What Yaadgaar does not do

  • Yaadgaar does not print or deliver the book: any photo shop prints the PDF.
  • Somebody with an iPhone cannot add photos yet. They can read a yaadein you share with them, in the browser.
