Add photos from your phone
When your phone has new photos, a note on the Timeline says so: tap it, untick any you don’t want, and tap Add. They upload on their own, even after you leave the app. For older photos, tap Add photos and pick them by month or by place, or choose them from Google Photos.
Step by step
Start from the note
When your phone has new photos, the Timeline shows a note such as “You have 8 photos from the last month”. Tap it. The photos are already ticked; untick any you do not want.
Let them upload on their own
Tap Add. You can leave the app: the upload carries on, and a notification tells you when the photos are in the album.
Pick older photos by month
Tap Add photos. It shows the photos on your phone that are not in the album yet, month by month. Tick the ones you want and tap Add.
Or by place
Tap Filter by place and type a place, such as “Jaisalmer”, to see only the photos taken there. Select all takes every one of them.
Bring one from Google Photos
A photo that is not on this phone may be in Google Photos. Tap Choose from Google Photos and pick it in the phone’s own photo picker.
